State of the art cement plants have a kiln bypass to reduce the chlorine/alkali content. For this purpose, a partial flow of the kiln exhaust gas with precalcined mineral is extracted and separated. As a basic rule, these plants operate at temperatures higher than 200°C and are equipped with PTFE-based felts or woven glass fabrics.
